Timeless Screening with J.Rocc
at Seattle Art Museum - Nordstrom Lecture Hall
Timeless, featuring the works of J Dilla (Suite for Ma Dukes), Mulatu Astatke and Arthur Verocai will screen its Seattle premiere Friday April 30 at 6 p.m. in Seattle Art Museum’s Nordstrom Lecture Hall. Rather than showing all three films back to back or a screener edit of all three films, we will instead do something historic: J Rocc of the World Famous Beat Junkies—possibly the greatest DJ on the planet right now—will DJ all three films, using the latest Serato technology. J Rocc will be manipulating the films using vinyl on turntables to control the hi-res film files, creating an amazing megamix of all three films. This, as far as we know, has never been done to premier a film or indeed a series of films ever. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, director B+ and co-director Eric Coleman.
Later that evening, we’ll celebrate Timeless with an after-party DJ’ed by J Rocc, and B+ and Coleman of Mochilla. The afterparty will be held at the recently opened HG Lodge at 722 E. Pike Street on Seattle’s Capitol Hill.
