Show Preview: Mobb Deep @ The Crocodile April 22

Mobb Deep

One of the best parts of seeing a great artist live is when the beat drops on one of the songs that got you to love them in the first place. At a Mobb Deep show, this will happen a lot. No matter how you may feel about how the song has been used in the 19 years since it was released, you cannot deny that “Shook Ones (Part II)” from 1995’s “The Infamous” is one of those songs.

Most likely if you’re reading this, you have your own Mobb Deep memory. For me, it is from the days of rolling around Kirkland in friend’s parent’s Blazer. We had a thing for “G.O.D. Pt. III” from Mobb Deep’s 1996 album, “Hell On Earth.”

At Tuesday’s Mobb Deep show at The Crocodile, you know you will be in a room surrounded by people who love the same music you do. When “Survival Of The Fittest” starts, we will all nod our heads together, which is really what all this is about.

Mobb Deep will be joined by LA aka Language Arts, who was recently featured in The Bar’s “Mits.” Cam The Mac and DJ Swervewon are also on the bill for tomorrow night’s not-sold-out-yet show at The Crocodile. More info and tickets can be found on our ReignCity Event Page. - Liz

New Music: DP - “Jabar”

DP

“Jabar” is one of those song that gets away with murder, lyrically, because the Brooklyn Taylor beat is that good. Virginia Beach based artist, DP, also has a great twitter name, @gatkingcole. - Liz
